Pioneers Spark the Love of Reading
Supporting education, especially literacy, has been a long-time focus of the Pioneers community service initiatives. In 2009, Pioneers in Halifax, Nova Scotia, piloted a literacy project which provided elementary aged students with free books that were donated from Pioneers, Bell Aliant employees and the local community. Through a school-based literacy program, students were able to choose their own books to take home through a fun day book giveaway event.
